Welcome to the Chicago Jazz Festival. This year our festival is filled with great delights - wonderful performances, free events, and lots of fun - as well as workshops, master classes and informative demonstrations.
It is a special year for us, one in which we have focused on the Chicago Jazz Festival mission not only to bring nationally and internationally renowned artists into our midst, but to give back to the community through free events and community partnerships designed to showcase local artists.
The Chicago Jazz Festival is set to enrapture festival lovers once again. Our venue will leave you fascinated, captivated and enthralled. With performances ranging from classic to contemporary, traditional to avant-garde, each act will inspire you to greater heights.
Chicago Jazz Festival The Chicago Jazz Festival unfolds in Grant Park on the shores of Lake Michigan. The park offers an inviting setting and the festival draws hundreds of thousands to picnic on the grass, making this one of the most chilled-out events in the city's annual calendar.
From its beginnings in 1979, it has offered a consistently attractive blend of familiar acts and up-and-coming talent. Performances take place in the Petrillo Music Shell and on two other stages. This year's festival marks the birthplace of Jazz, New Orleans.
